Al Gore, special guest, will close the conference through a live videoconference from the US.
Vicepresident Al Gore, special VIP guest of the II World Conference on Climate Change & Wine, will not be able to close the event in person, as initially scheduled, due to personal reasons. In order not to dissapoint the participants, the organizers and Vicepresident Gore have confirmed that his participation will continue to happen at the scheduled time but through a live satellite videoconference from his residence in Nashville, Tennesse. The attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy Mr. Gore´s presentation as well as participating in a Q&A session at the end of the satellite videoconference.

AL GORE RECEIVES THE PRINCIPE DE ASTURIAS AWARD


Ex Vice President of the United States, Al Gore has received the 2007 Principe de Asturias Award in International Cooperation. Gore is the guest of honour in the Wine Academy’s Congress on Climate Change.

The ex Vice President of the United States, Al Gore has received the 2007 Principe de Asturias Award in International Cooperation. Seventeen candidates from twelve different nationalities had also been considered for this award. The jury’s decision was announced by Leopoldo Calvo Sotelo, President of the Principe de Asturias Award, pointed out Gore´s “decisive” contribution towards the progress in solving the problems of climate change which are threatening the planet.

Al Gore will be the opening speaker at the World’s II Congress on Climate Change and Wine conference. This is organised by the Wine Academy of Spain and takes place in the Hesperia Tower Hotel in Barcelona on the 15th and 16th of February.
